More and more universities are offering recordings of their classes free to the general public. MIT paved the way and now others are following suit. Here are a list of prestigious universities giving public access to their lectures.

Open Yale Courses Yale offers seven introductory courses in Astronomy, English, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, and Religious Studies.

UC Berkeley WebcastsThey’ve got a healthy number of courses, all with video and/or audio. You can download the mp3 to play on your ipod, but the videos are Real Player files.

iTunes UBrowse the iTunes U section of iTunes Store and you’ll find a list of other universities offering free podcasts of their lectures and talks. Participating schools include Stanford, New York Law School, Duke, Vanderbilt, and Northeastern.

LecturefoxThis is a really nifty site that lists the most recent free course offerings from even more universities like UC San Diego, Caltech, UCLA, Oxford, Harvard, Rice, Princeton and more! The best part about it is that it shows right away whether there is video, audio, or just lecture notes.Additionally, I came across some great resources for free language courses, too!

FSI Language CoursesThese courses were developed by the United States government to give public access to language programs. Pretty exciting for me since they have a Cantonese course, a very rare find.

BBC LanguagesThey have interactive, online, multimedia classes for many popular languages.iTunes Do a search for Language Courses (or go to podcasts–>Education–>Language Courses) and you’ll find a selection of free podcasts teaching language.

How do I fix Illegal Operations?

Illegal Operations can be caused by several different factors. Below is a listing of the more commonly known reasons for getting an Illegal Operations.

1. TSR’s or Third-party programs causing memory conflicts or other types of conflicts with the program or programs attempting to be run.
2. Data not being read properly from source. Running a program or game with a dirty CD can cause the CD to be read improperly causing Illegal Operations. Floppy diskettes which may contain errors can cause illegal operations.
3. Installing a program or game on a hard disk drive that has errors or is highly fragmented.
4. Corrupt files.
5. Memory managers.
6. Bad, incorrect or not the latest video drivers.
7. Computer Virus.
8. Added hardware
9. Error in program coding
10. Corruption or problem within Windows.
11. Bad Memory, invalid bits or physically bad memory.

A little precaution can go a long way to securing your online banking experience!

Online banking is big business. Which makes you a very big target for online scammers. So next time you get an email telling you need click on a link and login to your bank to access your account to verify data and information, DOUBLE CHECK THE email address. Banks will not use an email that’s ends with a yahoo, gmail, or an IP address. More importantly they will never ask you for information via email!!

INSTEAD OPEN UP A SEPARATE BROWSER WINDOW AND LOGIN TO YOUR BANK BY TYPING IN THE BANK’S URL.

In this way you can avoid cleverly disguised phishing pages.

Improve overall system performance

Improve overall system performance and boot time and get rid of programs you don’t want running in the background by choosing to do a Selective Startup in msconfig.

Click Start, Run and type: msconfig and press enter.

In the System Configuration Utility click the Startup tab.

Uncheck programs you do not wish to load each time your computer starts. Once done click ok and restart the computer.

After the computer boots back into Windows you will receive a prompt about Windows being in a selective startup. Check the box to not receive the prompt and click ok.

I have tried to post all active links to the free movie sites, but some links to the free sites might not be active

I mainly use http://www.joox.net wihch is an awesome site to watch and download new free movies, music videos, and tv shows.

Users on this site add their favourite videos from the Youtube clone www.stage6.com into categories so that they will be easy to find. When stage6 removes a video it stops working here. and movies usally don’t last longer then maybe 24-72 hours.
